Course Structure
1. Practical Flight Training
Every candidate receives a minimum of two hours of practical flight instruction with one of our qualified instructors.
Training is adapted to suit your current ability and experience, allowing us to focus on the areas that will provide the greatest benefit.
Practical instruction includes:
- Aircraft preparation and pre-flight inspections
- Flight controls and aircraft handling
- Circuit flying
- Hovering and precision manoeuvres
- Emergency procedures
- Mission planning
- Operational decision making
- Post-flight procedures
Our aim is not simply to prepare you for an assessment, but to build the confidence required to conduct safe and professional drone operations.
2. Theory Assessment
Following completion of the classroom element, candidates will undertake a theory examination designed to assess their understanding of the RPC-L1 syllabus.
The assessment covers the knowledge required to safely plan and conduct drone operations in accordance with current CAA requirements.
3. Practical Flight Assessment
Once your instructor is satisfied that you are operating to the required standard, you will complete a practical flight assessment.
This assessment evaluates your ability to safely prepare, conduct and conclude a drone operation whilst demonstrating sound decision making, aircraft control and operational awareness.
